Our Story

After the closure of Totalsport in July 2015 Shaun Crowther decided to take on the cycling arm of the sports shop and open up a bike shop elsewhere, as a keen racing cyclist from a cycle racing family it seemed like an obvious thing to do!

With the invaluable help from Nick Steel and June Stead at Jersey Business a business plan swas hatched. Then the help from Colin Macleod, Jim Plumley and Carl Winn at the Channel Island Co-operative Society, Raleigh UK and some fantastic guidance from Peter Fosse at Social Security the plan came to fruition opening on the 30th October that year.

Swiftly moving onto 2018 we now thanks to the CICS find ourselves in a purpose built store directly opposite Co-op Grande Marche` in St Peter which we opened on the 7th of April 2018.

As Jersey’s first independant Co-operative we often find ourselves being questioned as to why we have Coop Bikes above the door and on our uniform and why Co-op dividend isn’t applicable, we are certainly happy to explain that we are workers Co-operative, something that is much more prevalent in the UK and it is the staff who receive dividend based on the performance and profits of the business. We are affiliated to Co-op UK and strive to remain true to the Co-op aims and principles.

We are a Raleigh select dealer selling Raleigh adult and children bikes, Diamondback Mountain bikes, XLC accessories, Uvex helmets and many other brands. With the explosion on the world of electric bikes coinciding with the appearence of Coop Bikes we quickly got trained up and are now an approved Bosch Service Centre, with e-bikes now being a major part of our business. If the idea of going electric has been ticking along in the back of your head somewhere it is definitely worth popping in to see our range and let us talk you through the why’s and wherefores of these amazing bikes...

So thats about it apart from saying we hope to see you very soon and welcome you all into our  wonderful looking shop soon!
